Symptoms: Depression, loss of appetite,
vomiting with or without blood, increased respiratory rate, abdominal pain,
weakness, kidney failure, coma, and death.
Additional Information: The symptoms of
an Aspirin overdose will generally develop 4-6 hours after ingestion, with
around 22mg per pound of body weight being the toxic threshold for dogs for
cats it is many times lower. The untreated effects of an Asprin overdose
will be inflammation of the liver, as well as stomach ulcerations and renal
disease.
First Aid: Induce vomiting and use
activated charcoal slurry, Seek Veterinary Attention.
