Toxins: Presumed to be Hydrocyanic acid or Tannins

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Additional Information: One of the most popular plants in the world its flowers are cut and sold by the millions due to their brilliant colors and unique appearance. The toxin is present is reportedly hydrocyanic acid. Ingestion will cause irritation of the mouth and throat limiting the quantity normally ingested, other symptoms include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

First Aid: Induce Vomiting with 3% Hydrogen Peroxide Solution, and provide symptomatic treatment. Pets will generally make a full recovery within 24-48 hours of ingestion.  Consult a Veterinarian
