Before you start a Dog Daycare you should know what is really involved in the successful operation of a busy facility. At the PAWS Dog Daycare School, as part of our ongoing effort to ensure the success of our clients we provide a 5 Day Course on Dog Daycare Operations. This course not only provides you with the knowledge you need operate your facility safely and smoothly, but provides you with the confidence that you need to work in and around 10 or more dogs on a daily basis, while maintaining a happy, well balanced, socially compatible pack. This course is offered at our facility by our instructors, to insure that you get the most out of your experience.

 

 

The 5 Day Course schedule and learning objectives are as follows

Day 1-  Introduction to Dog Daycare.

  • Meeting New Dogs for the first time

  • How to interpret Canine Body language

  • Basic Canine Behavior

  • Safely Introducing Dogs into the play areas

  • How to properly conduct temperament Evaluations

  • Maintaining Control over the pack

  • Keeping the pack balanced

  • Fight Prevention

  • Fight Disruption

  • Safe Play and Recommended Games

  • Good Toys and Bad Toys

  • Practical Application

 

Day 2-  Facility Operations.

  • Readying the facility for Daily operations Morning

  • Cleaning procedures

  • Maintaining Facility Security

  • Parasite Prevention

  • Successful Advertising

  • Profitable Networking

  • Maintaining a reciprocal relationship with you local veterinarians

  • How to successfully sell you services

  • Readying the facility for Daily operations Evening

  • Practical Application

Day 3-  Client Relations.

  • Client Screening

  • Client Greeting

  • Keeping Clients Happy

  • Handling Upset Clients

  • Fishing for Referrals

  • Building repeat Business

  • Getting your clients to sell for you

  • Practical Application

 

Day 4-  Practical Application

  • Apply the skills you have learned to assist in Facility Operations

You are responsible for travel and lodging costs while attending the Facility Operations Course offered by PAWS.  If you need to reschedule your reservation, you must provide a minimum of 2 weeks notice of your intent to reschedule or risk forfeiture of your tuition. There will be a 15% cancellation fee once a class date has been assigned to you.
